Die Frequenz von Traegern auf der Kurzwelle soll gemessen werden, und zwar
moeglichst genau: Etwa 20- oder 50-mal genauer, als fuer uebliche Zwecke
nuetzlich ist. Das Ganze versteht sich als eine nerdige Herausforderung an
Leute, denen so etwas Spass macht. So laesst sich der "Frequency Measure-
ment Test"(FMT) zusammenfassen, den die ARRL zweimal im Jahr veranstaltet.
Bald ist es wieder soweit: In der naechsten Woche am Freitag, am 7. Novem-
ber, findet der naechste FMT statt, in aller Fruehe von 02:30 bis 03:21
UTC. Die aus unserer Sicht unangenehm naechtliche Uhrzeit erhoeht immerhin
die Chance, dass die 40-m- und 80-m-Signale aus den USA in Deutschland
ueberhaupt zu hoeren sind. Weitere Details hat die FMT-Webseite [1].
Wie ein normaler Transceiver aufs Hertz genau kalibriert werden kann, be-
schreibt ein CQ DL-Artikel aus dem Heft 8/24, der inzwischen im Blog des
Autors, DJ3EI, verfuegbar ist [2], auch in englischer Uebersetzung.
