Open-Source Intelligence at its best - here it's Open Signals Intelligence

Since the start of Putin's war against Ukraine on 24 Febr 2022, most of

those hundreds of aircraft operated by airlines - such as Aeroflot - in

the Russian Federation and leased from e.g. "offshore" companies elsewhere

and registered in e.g. Bermuda as VP-ABC or VQ-XYZ for tax avoidance have

been "re-registered" (read: seized) under the new callsign series RA73 ...

These callsigns have never been monitored before !

{Exciting behavior can also be observed on Flightradar24 app, wb.}

<https://www.klingenfuss.org/ref.htm>

More than nine hundred (!) Kiwi-SDRs worldwide, covering the complete

0-30 MHz spectrum, are accessible e.g. at <www.kiwisdr.com>

This is simply great for the reception of HF utility radio stations, and

even NAVTEX on MF, from interesting locations all over the world. Enjoy !

New product: more than 29'000 (twenty nine thousand!) Digital Data

Decoder Screenshots on USB Stick. See our website for details.

For latest screenshots of e.g PROCITEC Digital Data Decoders see our

hotfrequencies webpage updated daily.

This week, all international shipments will be sent out, and next week,

domestic shipments will follow.

Best wishes, Joerg Klingenfuss

** BRAZIL. 11780, Thu Dec 4 at 0749, RNA already in American token
English, about Samba/Reggae. S9+5/15 here but not // on much weaker
6180, some other music. Recheck before 0800, same in Spanish on 11780.
Could 6180 also be RNA as expected but with different program feed?
Nothing else listed at this time. Sort of makes sense, as 6180 is more
for a domestic audience (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 5025, Dec 4 at 0800 and earlier, R. Rebelde is off.
Explaining the absence of any RHC/China relay frequencies earlier on
Dec 3, a Fox `news` bit I happened to hit tuning across KXEL 1540 at
0802: blackout covering the western half of Cuba! Here`s RHC itself
about that as of Dec 4:

https://www.radiohc.cu/restablecido-el-sistema-electrico-nacional-pero-persisten-afectaciones/
1000 megawatt apag?n blamed on a shortage of fuel for generators. RHC
not rechecked until 1720: into Georgia SDR, 11880 is back on, loud
S9+5/15, also // 15140 S9+15/20 but sounding much weaker with usual
windhowl.

BTW, when I was trying to reach RHC website, I ran across this HUGE
ARCHIVE of VOA SW Radiograms and other programs, major references
such as HFCC back to 2011:
http://www.rhci-online.net/radiogram/radiogram.htm
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2324)

** FRANCE. 21660, MiniTransAt: from Terry Krueger, NW FL, 0535 UT Dec
4: ``Glenn - I assumed they were done on the 3 Dec check. No trace at
1500Z. I left the channel on while doing tasks around the house. Then
they suddenly appeared at 1506, at the ending of the forecast by the
French accented lady in English. ?Goodbye, see you tomorrow? (not sure
how one ?sees? via radio). Techno vocals, off 1515. Local level as
always. Apparently a malfunction starting time making the transmission
useless for the boater if he was even listening to antiquated
shortwave. How long will it take one stinking slow boat off Guadeloupe
to make it? I guess they?ll be back 4 Dec but I won?t be home to
check``

I do check it Dec 4: 21660 on air *1503-1515*: JIP English weather
info, for Wednesday the 19th [! of November], also mention Thursday
20th - so is playing back oldstuff on autopilot? At 1507 she says
``See you tomorrow``, and music, more songs at 1510, 1514 to chopoff
1515* which seems to be SOP now. Was S4/S5 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF
RADIO 2324)

** NEW ZEALAND. Re: 28228, ZL3TEN not in QRZ.com: ``Hi Glenn! Take
another look. ZL3TEN is run by the Christchurch VHF DX Group:
https://www.qrz.com/db/ZL3TEN
Steve Howe`` - Not sure how I missed that (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. Re: no English yet. This from Michael Andersson in bdxc-news
Dec 4: ``R Exterior de Espa?a - English programmes --- I got this
reply today, so a near future comeback is to expect. Good news!

"Hello Michael, Thank you so much for the messages and for listening
us. Marilyn left, as you know, and now we, the two new hosts, are
starting again with the broadcast next week, we needed some training
and time to adapt but next wednesday we will be on air again. Best
wishes, Daniel Riob?o"`` {same also via Simon Frech}

Ken Zichi replies Dec 4: Re: [WOR] Still no English from Spain -- I
too sent an email. Marilyn (Q I presume) responded and told me she was
being told REE was 'well heard' in North America and they had many
reception reports (those were the words she used....) She thought
there may be something wrong with 'my equipment'.

I responded to THAT saying 'someone is not telling you the full story'
and relayed that the North American beamed frequencies have been off
the air for MONTHS, I was not the only person noticing that, and it
was near impossible to hear them since the season change. I even sent
audio recordings in a separate message to demonstrate how poorly they
were received.

She replied that she would be 'on vacation for a week' and would
follow up when she got back. I then saw a post here that she was
moving to a different department and there would be new EE host(s) but
I've heard nothing directly back from Marilyn or anyone else at REE
since then. I tried again this AM to the 'general' email -- we'll see
if I get a response! Thanks for also trying. I'm curious to hear if
you get a response! 73 //Ken Z`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO

appreciated. Thanks this week to Dr Richard Langley, New Brunswick,
for a contribution via PayPal in US funds but not necessarily, to:

contribution. It goes without saying what a great service you supply
to the shortwave enthusiast community. We're getting smaller and older
but to rephrase a familiar expression, "keep listening and carry on"
