So I understand now, its belonging to Monaco instead anyway,

on medium wave at 1467
Hello Tony,
I live very close to Roumoules and even closer to Monaco, so of course I can
hear TWR very well on 1467 kHz.
Currently, the broadcasts are directed towards North Africa. But the four
antennas are rotating; until 2023, there were broadcasts in Polish, therefore
towards Poland.
Personally, I received 1467 kHz clearly, even as far away as Israel (last
December) and also Chisinau in Moldova.
I've already visited the Roumoules transmitting center, which is quite
impressive with its LW and MW antennas.
I hope you'll be able to broadcast from Roumoules; it's in France, but it's a
Monegasque frequency!
Regards, Christian Ghibaudo.
Le 25/02/2026 ? 13:47, Tony Pavick via groups.io a ?crit :
You may have heard about Channel 292 offering time from Monaco Media Diffusion
(MMD) on medium wave at 1467 kHz with a power of 1000 kW = 1 megawatt. The price
is ?350 per hour, so I am saving up some money to give this a go for an
all-Europe MW special broadcast of Pop Shop Radio in April.
Here is where I need some assistance.
I understand that Trans World Radio uses this transmitter from 2115 to 2300 UT.
Are you able to receive this at your location? A few people have told me that
Iran may give this frequency some grief.
I am thinking about using it at 2300 UT sometime in April. I realise that this
would be 0000 in the UK and 0100 in Europe. There is only a 7 hour window for
booking time, 2300 to 0600 UT, so this seems like the most ideal time. Because
I recognise that people may have work the next day, I would do UT Friday or
Saturday (local Saturday/ Sunday).
To get the best coverage, I'm considering a bean that would be primarily north
east from Monaco/ France, toward the Baltics.
Any advice would be appreciated
Tony Pavick

more music, no announcements in any language past 2325+. At least
there is no more DX olds in Portuguese (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** BRAZIL. 11780 // 6180, Feb 25 at 0750, RNA announcing s/on of the
two SW frequencies, despite having been running for quite a while,
often by 0730. And right into token English, another ep about RNA`s
founding in March 1974, admittedly originally broadcast in March 2024.
Parque Rodeador became one of the largest radio sites anywhere and
Brasil`s first opportunity to reach the whole world. Barely into it
when time is up by 0754 ID and switch to Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK,

** CANADA. 24927 CW, Feb 25 at 2303, EEEEE VVV DE VA3KAH/B - like now,
this is the only beacon or phone signal to be heard on the 12m band,
while meanwhile, 10m is hopping full as is 11m CB. Part of info at

VA3KAH is located on Kah-She Island in Georgian Bay, Ontario. Four
continuous CW radio beacons are located on the island, on 44, 22, 12,

November to May. Thanks to its location far from shore in one of the
Great Lakes, Kah She Island is considered an exotic beacon location
and is highly prized by listeners from around the world. We try to
provide propagation information by operating a number of micro-power
to higher powered beacons on several bands. These include:
44 m 6783.4 KHz in the ISM band "VA3KAH/B" (dipole @ 18')
22 m 13566 KHz in the ISM band "KAH" (vertical @ 12')

** SPAIN. 9690, Wed Feb 25 at 2300, REE weekly token English, S9+20/30
direct, and also only on much weaker 17715 for S America, NO signal on
12030 for ME, and still missing 17755 for Africa. Preview topix:
anniversary of Russia`s war on Ukraine; something else happened 45
years ago. 9690 already fading down a bit but still sufficient. Yet I
find it tiring listening thru the heavy accent of the OM. Something`s
not right at Noblejas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 5960, Feb 24 at 2258, VOT direct reads S9/+10. but dead
air? or JBM/JBA IS. 2300 timesignal finishes about 1 second early
compared to WWV which I have just checked. At 2340 into UTwente,
5960.002+ S9+35/40 with Turkish music; 2344 ``with you every hour``
promo; 2354 s/off as if it`s 1330 on 13635 - something`s still awry at
Ankara; 2355 fragment of IS and off* uncovering China (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** TURKEY [non]. 5960.001+, Feb 25 at 2259, no signal direct from VOT;
nor at 2352 into UTwente, when measured, too accurately for TRT,
Chinese songs only. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2335 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday

Also confirmed Wednesday February 25 at 2200 on WBCQ 7490 -15 Hz,
S7/S9 into Maryland SDR. Preceded by unknown music, not TOMBS as has
been, nor long-gone Pirate Joe Extravaganzo, yet still on the websked.

** U S A [non]. Hi Glenn, on short notice --- we might to have to
cancel your 1730 UT outlet on Thursday. We had a promising enquiry
from a 12-year old group of radio maniacs, who want to get on the air
desperately on shortwave. We thought we let them a go for a test:
https://shortwaveradio.de/en/TalkMusic
Nothing for sure but we love to support youngsters. Just to let you
know. Show will be most probably in German language and the WhatsApp
link is NOT available for adults. I sort out any email for this
station for all DX-ers tomorrow. Cheers for now, Andy (Shortwave Radio
from Winsen on the river Aller, Germany), Feb 24)
** U S A. 9395, Feb 24 at 2300, this WRMI finally back on air, with
`Truth 2 Ponder` lamenting he doesn`t have hundreds of thousands of
followers like some you-tubers (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 9330, Feb 25 at 2322, S9+20/30 of Portuguese, but not solid,
off the side, as World`s Last Chance Radio is suddenly and finally
back on WBCQ SuperStition after temporary ``bankruptcy?``. I have been
checking 9330 at least once a day (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 15555 USB, Feb 24 at 1546, no signal from WJHR. In fact,
have not hit it in some weeks on random daytime bandscanning,
supposedly scheduled 1358-2200 per EiBi. So is it ever on the air?
When I did hear it, I wondered whether only tnx to a sporadic E
opening from this glorified ham station. Last report I find was in the
Dec 21, 2025 NASWA Flashsheet, from Cichorek-NJ, but omitting time and
date! Last time I logged it was Sept 26, 2025 until 2203*, but surely
heard since, but ignored. At that time, I also noted it had been
missing until then. Note occasionally has been on 15550 USB instead
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1090, Feb 25 at 2343-2346 UT, nothing direct via E/W
longwire except RCC talk about Pope, etc., S9+10, so it`s EWTN on KEXS
Excelsior Springs MO, no sign of KAAY Little Rock AR, which I have
been trying to catch powering down from 50 to 3.4 kW at LSS, but not
at 2345 in Feb? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VATICAN. 13830, Feb 25 at 1542, VR in Amharic, S9+5/25, and would
you believe it`s axually stronger here than Greenville Mart? on
13820?! which is only S5/S9; and also exceeding 13845 WWCR. VR also
strong S9/+10 on // 15565.
These are supposedly aimed oppositely toward Ethiopia. No other
significant signals from Europe on either band (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 1070 kHz, Feb 25 at 0703 UT, CBS news, could be KNX? But
KHMO Hannibal MO is also a CBS affil; fading down by 0706 when I want
to confirm whether Scott Jennings Show I heard before be coming from
KHMO. No answer, yet to my inquiry of the station. Sked still shows
Charlie Kirk, and most/all their other talkshows are far-right
extremists (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 1550 kHz, Feb 25 at 0802 UT, ID starts with WO+
something. The only fit in NRC AM Log seems very unlikely, but: WOCC
Corydon IN U1 250/6 watts (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
