** CHINA [non]. 9790, May 10 at 0643, weak S6/S9 and undermodulated
signal in English, discussion by women`s voices. Surely out of CUBA,
failing to turn off CRI relay at 0500; might have been an RHC mistake,
but not their style, and about China. Nothing else sked on 9790 now
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, May 9 at 0629, RHC English still going this late,
S9+15/22 direct (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, May 10 at 0645, S9+10/15 of windhowl only, yet the
SSOB; something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 11880, May 10 at 1902, RHC English, S6/S8 into
Knoxville SDR, but heavily distorted! A shame on what had been their
clearest frequency. // 15140 is axually better, S7. The opposition
frequencies are loud & clear on 11860 & 11930. Also compared on a
W3HFU remote in Maryland. So this is not an SDR problem. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Stitt vetoes bill to continue OETA
Enid News & Eagle May 7, 2026

OKLAHOMA CITY — Gov. Kevin Stitt has vetoed a continuation of
Oklahoma’s state-funded TV station, contending taxpayer dollars
shouldn’t subsidize public broadcasting.

The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority would reach its sunset
date July 1 and have a year to wind down its operations, if the
governor’s veto is not overridden or counteracted with other
legislation. Senate Bill 1461, which Stitt vetoed, would have extended
OETA’s existence to July 2031...

If you can`t access full story there, I have posted it in the WOR

** TURKEY. 11785, May 9 at 2209, VOT S9+30 into UTwente with music. At
first displayed as 11784.999+ at S9+30, making me wonder if it were
else, as too accurate; but step up 5 kHz and back down in SAM mode
then displays at 11785.004, more believable; 2215 `Conflict Zones of
East Africa`, certainly a VOT programmme as in Alan Roe`s schedule
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11660.003, Sun May 10 at 1630, VOT English, S9+30 into
UTwente, s/on now acknowledges that ``you may be listening to a later
repeat`` of the original 1230 on 17620 - I am sure this is a direct
result of my complaint that otherwise it`s nonsensical to keep saying
only that it`s 1230 on 17620. But axually citing the current time and
frequency for each broadcast is asking too much. Cemre then into news.
At 1640 end of news, also ``originally broadcast live`` rather than
acknowledging that it is ``olds``, hi.

1641 theme starting ``The Letterbox Program`` - past week important at
TRT, 99 years of radio broadcasting, 6 May 1927. I still have a hard
time copying names of listeners and locations! 1) Annan? Bain?, Chat.
India, SWL club, listened via UTwente, innocent people killed in Iran
war is heartbreaking, has not received QSL cards. 2) Tom Shelton?,
Netherlands, 5960 inbooms QRMing 5955 station, could VOT reduce
bandwidth? No further details; 5960 was B25 English at 2300 but no
5955 in EiBi at that hour; if in A26, 5960 runs 1830-2100 in Turkish,
but nothing listed on 5955 during those hours, either. 5955 could
still be a LP or pirate not in listings. 3) Mr. Kuznetsov, Riga,
Latvia, 11785 at 1901-1927 UTC! WRONG, she does not realize, it`s at
22+ UT only. 5) A third young person from Zaragoza, Spain, Paul
Vicente Farón?; are they all in a club? Also wants pQSL, stamps, heard
Spanish on 13725 - that is at 1630. 6) Someone in a DX club in India,
11660. 7) Mr Kazuaki? in Kawasaki City, Japan, 51-year listener, a
pharmacist. 8) someone in a listeners club in West Bengal - no one
from N America lately. 1657 ending. 1658 `Geo-economix Diary` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9670/10185, May 9 at 2107 very approx. extent of splatter
out of 9930 WTWW which is overmodulated and distorted, S9+40/50
direct. Of course worse closer to 9930, heavy QRM to 10000 WWV, 9955
WRMI; and any other weaker signals in the range. Still so at 2140 and
2200 into Crowley TX SDR between 9800 and 10100 or so. I urged George
to turn it off immediately until it could be fixed. Did not hear it go
off but maybe eventually the splatter lessened. By 1445 May 10, OK, no
splatter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
