** ASCENSION. Re 21645 log last time: ``Why was BBC 21645 heard on May
24? They were airing the final matchday of the '25-26 English Premier
League soccer season, with live commentary from 1400, and postmatch
reaction in the final hour at 1600.
Joe Hanlon, NJ`` In Hausa?? Double yawn (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CANADA. 15034 RC/USB, May 25 at 1359, Trenton Military, CHR,
normally pure USB, now with additional reduced carrier. This has
happened occasionally before, backup transmitter? Or on request? At
1403 modulation has paused but the RC remains on. At 1437 back to
usual VOLMET on USB with RC, no LSB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHINA. 21550, May 25 at 0430, JBA carrier; also on 21645. EiBi &
Aoki indicate both as CNR1 jammer and Sound of Hope frequencies only.
Also a JBA carrier on 21750-, slightly offset, presumably something
local as nothing listed but often audible (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** COLOMBIA. 10125 CW, May 25 at 0445, no signal from HK3QQ, the
beacon of letters in keyboard order with errors. Off? Have not heard
it for several nights in routine 9-MHz bandscans which I habitually
run from 8992 to 10125 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 9790, May 25 at 0441-0447+, RadioCuba demonstrates yet
another way to screw up where something`s always wrong: nonsense of
about 11 syllables repeating over and over at the rate of 24 times per
minute. Rough transcription: ``tu oigo a vida victor ?p-se-chet``, no
doubt influenced by some real words in Portuguese or Spanish known to
me. S9+30/40 and gone at next check 0532. This is supposed to be CRI
Cantonese relay at 0400-0500, but unseems tonal. Often just dead air
so this is an improvement (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ISRAEL [non]. 9395, Mon May 25 at 0437, WRMI-6 S9+10/20 with news
from Israel Radio as sked 04-05 on WRN. Supposedly System G, but that
stops at 0400 per G grid, and 9395 after 0400 not accounted for on any
other System. Haven`t listened for extended periods, but seems
objective and balanced, reporting on Settlers axions against
Palestinians, Netanyahu`s problems, etc. A.k.a. KAN, but no specific
IDs heard (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 730 kHz, Mon May 25 at 0623, surprised to hear Mexican NA
choral version playing at odd time, not ToH, 0625 full ID as XEHB,
``La M?s Picuda``, Parral, Chihua2, with cadena Radiorama. Still
owning `clear` channel, not XEX (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA [non]. 1210 kHz, May 25 at 0636 UT, Mexmx and no sign of
KGYN, unusual, could be off or axually nulling toward Philadelphia.
Only two obscure deep XEs on 1210; most likely KUBR San Juan TX in the
RGV, address in McAllen, R. Cristiana tho there are other USSS in FL,
TN, WA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2348 monitoring: NOT confirmed
Sunday May 24 at 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.994, S9+10 into
nearby Noale SDR - rather songs in Italian and English. Still on the
NEXUS etc., program schedule at both 1900 & 2000 on Sundays, but maybe
they realized it was not necessary to air the same program twice in
one sesquihour as had been the case for several weeks.
Confirmed Sunday May 24 at 2013 the 2000 on WRN Europe stream.
Also confirmed Sunday May 24 at 2131 on SW Radio Gold, Germany,
6160.001- at S9+10 and 3975.000+ at S9+20 both into UTwente.
Also confirmed Sunday May 24 at 2330 on WRMI 9455, S9+20/45 into
Georgia SDR.
Also confirmed UT Monday May 25 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S6/S9 into S
Texas SDR.
Also confirmed UT Monday May 25 from 0301 on Area 51 webcast only, as
WBCQ 5130 is signing off. Next:
1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 6160;
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 5850 to NW;
1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast];
1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast];
2000 UT Tuesday IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323;
2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast];
2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975, 6160;
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW;
2330 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160;
2330 UT Thursday WRMI 5950 to NNW.
Financial support appreciated for this non-commercial public service
program: by MO or check on a US bank in US funds to:

Or via PayPal not necessarily in US funds, to: woradio at yahoo.com
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5850, UT Mon May 25 surprised to hear WRMI in Catalan, all
about R. Andorra, with historic clips of station, commentary mostly in
Spanish. 0555 outro as `La Rosa de Tokio`, among the credits Rub?n
Guillermo Margenet. Longtime since I have run across this DX program,
and wonder if new ones are being produced, even weekly? Spanish
speakers, even non-natives like myself, may almost understand Catalan
as fraxured Castilian. It`s UT Mondays 05-06 on 5850, and several
other times on 9955, 5010, 7780 per skedgrid. WRMI programming says,
Conducci?n: Omar Somma
y Juani Natale`` I`ve always found ``LRT`` a strange name for a
DX/media show. Tokyo Rose would surely wonder what she had to do with
Argentina, or Andorra. At 0600, 5850 joins DW in English from WRN,
discussion seems JIP about 100,000 spiders in North Macedonia (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1090, May 25 at 0635 UT, promo for J. Vernon McGee, `Thru
the Bible` and KAAY ID in passing. KAAY Little Rock AR now difficult
to hear since degraded to 3.4 kW at night and direxional with major
lobes slightly CCW from N/S. McGee started his post-mortem ministry in
1988y. I`ve yet to catch KAAY on 50 kW almost-ND day power before LSS
or after LSR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VATICAN. 9710, May 25 at 0440, VR S9+10 with bells and opening
fraxured Russian = Ukrainian daily icosaminute, to be followed by
another in real Russian at 0500; no QubaRM this time (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 15140-15145-15150, May 25 at 0432, S9 DRM noise, but
nothing listed in Aoki, EiBi, HFCC nor drmrx (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
