Thanks this week to Gerald T. Pollard, Raleigh NC, for a generous seasonal check on a US bank for Summer Solstice, to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Or one may support this non-commercial public service program via PayPal not necessarily in US funds, to: woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, Sat June 20 at 0717, WRNO unusually on way late with S9+20 of gospel huxter in English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 590, June 20 at 0651 UT, rock music, unseems as strong as Omaha used to be, but checking since this report at 0152 via ABDX, IRCA: ``First noted this afternoon, doing exactly what I suspected they might eventually do — simulcasting Walnut Media's "Boomer Radio", already heard on KXCB-1420 (as of a few weeks ago) and KIBM 1490. At a Boomer Radio listener party back on April 25, I asked Walnut Media President/CEO Patrick Combs about the recent purchase of the 590 frequency. Not wanting to divulge too much, he said with a wry smile, "Changes ARE coming. As they say in the business, 'Stay tuned for further developments.'" Because the legal ID recording has not been changed yet, the company, for now, is simply dropping in the following: "Boomer Radio on AM 590, WOW, Omaha". I don't know if this means that Walnut Media was successful in their effort to petition the FCC to bring back the nostalgic calls, but one has to wonder. IMHO, they wouldn't be mentioning "WOW" with no mention of "KXSP" if they hadn't been. 590 in Omaha had been dark for 1 day short of 4 months. 73, Rick Dau, South Omaha, Nebraska`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 5040, June 20 at 0712, JBA presumably R. Vanuatu, trying hard not to be heard this far away instead of 9960 or 7260 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 720.12 approx., June 20 at 0707 UT. LAH upon WGN during TOSOM. Nothing near here in mwoffsets (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 1240 kHz, June 20 at 0702 UT, strong dominant signal with sports talk, in what is normally a graveyard pileup; faded down in a couple minutes. Not // 1640 KZLS, so not Fox SR, rather ESPN. Probably my closest, KFH Wichita KS, 630/630 watts. Why would it be powered down from 1000? (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9236.0, June 20 at 0719, weak open carrier and clix every 3 seconds, which can be detected out to plus/minus 15 kHz, 9221/9521. What is this? Center frequency always ends in -6 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report despatched at 1616 UT June 20 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/ _______________________________________________ THE INFORMATION IN THIS ARTICLE IS FREE.
