** CANADA. 14670 CUSB, June 22 at 1242, CHU still going, best here, VP
on 7850, inaudible on 3330, already full-day path.

14670 constantly tuned starting at 1355; VP signal now in noise level,
and the voice announcements become inaudible, just the beeps, which
appear to stop at 1410* as planned, to CLOSE DOWN FOREVER, an old,
once reliable SW friend!! Everybody was monitoring this, but I do not
attempt to quote all that; see the WOR Indian Ocean group. Seems there
were some pirates on 7850 toward the end (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 27184 AM, June 22 at 2205, no skip on CB, but local
signals here discussing who owns an Enid address; contact is on 27185
AM, lots of hets back & forth with other stations too. Mismatch not so
obvious if listening in AM mode (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 93.1, June 22 at 1945 UT, NEW local mono signal in Enid,
ruining what was a good `open` DX frequency, and also ACI to anything
on 92.9 & 93.3. Fox Sports Radio, long string of ads and promos for
FSN1 TV etc., as I am attentively monitoring for legal ID at ToH 2000
UT: there it is, ONLY for 1390 KCRC & 1640 KZLS! Off to a great start,
failing to ID this transmitter!! So now we have stupid FSR occupying
three rather than two local channels.

I check FCC LMS. It`s K226BR, Fac #156415, now owned by Chisholm Trail
Broadcasting, yet still shown as relaying KIMY 93.9 Watonga! Which was
its source until it crashed several years ago under a previous owner.
Says it`s licensed and silent --- NOT! What do they know? Further FCC

Map shows site is at the NE corner of Broadway & Grand in downtown
Enid, i.e. the decrepit Broadway Tower, which also holds 91.1 and I
don`t know whut all. Later checking on two portables, 93.1 runs about
2 seconds ahead of 1640, but almost synch with 1390. 1640 site is more
remote. Some months ago I had sporadic local carriers on 93.1
downtown, maybe also from this (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785, June 22 at 2203, VOT English not off the air, in

11780 Brasil (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 17790 & 9955, June 22 at 2210, both WRMIs are not off the
air, but very weak direct; 9955 during Wavescan (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 12050, June 22 at 2216, WEWN off again, also earlier check
today; once again ceasing to be a SW station (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 14721-14777 approx., June 22 at 0708, multi-carrier,
multi-tones beating against each other, S9 in center. At least
avoiding CHU. What is this? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 97.3, June 22 at 2018 UT in downtown Enid finding no
mail in Box 1684, dead air in $tereo, local strength, but not audible
a semihour later at home. Perhaps an idle RF feeder in a parked
vehicle. IDs should be required on these -- at least by RDS (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
