            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

Folks, we're going to mix things up a bit editorially tonight...We'll do the latest
stuff on the Middle East and Powell's trip etc., etc. but we'll also get into the
Senate debate on ANWR (drilling in Alaska). Senator Murkowski of Alaska will be here
to argue for opening up the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge to drilling...We'll have
another senator on the other side of the issue....Plus, the controversy surrounding
Cardinal Bernard Law is coming to a crescendo with several calls for resignation
coming today...I got the story below...Barnicle will check in with us in the e/f block
on that story...Chris and Barnicle together on the Church?? Forget it buddy, you know
it's going to be smokin'...

Fmr. Isreali PM Ehud Barak will give us his take on the latest from the Middle East as
will Rhagida...I'm told she has some big story she's breaking for Al-Hayat, her
newspaper...Should be hot...We'll see..

Plus, Kuby will be here to discuss the blind sheik's lawyer, Lynn Stewart, who got
busted yesterday for passing unlawful messages to him...Basically she was helping him
run his terrorist operation from prison...What's up with that?

We're trying to get the head of the Iraqi National Congress back to discuss the USA
Today gallup polls on Iraq (see yesterday's Briefing)...We discussed them last night
with Bibi, remember? 59% of Americans say we should send ground troops in the take
out Saddam, yada, yada, yada....

Got jam now folks, we got lots of pre-tapes, Chris has to work on his column and I got
to produce the e/f block....Sorry we had to cancel Gergen last night on the
Bloomberg/Marijuana ad thing...Bibi's plane was late and I ended up standing on the
street corner in the rain with my umbrella and one of his secret service guys waiting
on his arrival...I had the honor of holding his umbrella as we rushed up to the
studio...Originally we were going to lead the show with him but had to knock off the
e/f block to do him one on one...I thought it was great...

Also, pls stop the e-mail on Chris!!! My inbox is blowing up! I've gotten several
hundred from you...I've given him a file of them to read...I appreciate all your
enthusiasm...Dominic Bellone compiled and edited the Briefing in Washington, DC
