            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

Yes Virginia the slicing and dicing of the SOTU will continue on Hardball's College
Tour tonight live from Seton Hall (9 pm et on MSNBC)...Katrina, Conason, Dornan &
Scarborough will duke it out over Bush's performance last night...Did he make the case
for war? Did he calm a jittery market? Overnight polling suggests he scored big on
his Iraq message but didn't move many on the economic message...Clearly he won the U2
fan club constituency with Bono's endorsement of his AIDS agenda...

Team Shuster/Jamison are working on a couple of packages, Iraq & economy, to drive the
discussion...Should be hot especially when we get the kids involved and start asking
about the draft and such....

PS How about Caddell's look last night? Professional cut?...I was shocked as I'm sure
you were too...

So this morning I'm deep into Frum's "The Right Man" book and really digging it...We
had him on a few weeks ago...Well guess who is kickin it in the cubicle next to mine
when I got into the office but Frum himself...He asked if he was at my desk, I said no
but that I was reading and enjoying his book...(one of the cool fringe benefits of
this job...You get to meet a number of people in the news and for a news junkie, it
doesn't get any better)..

"Nuff said...We hope you'll join us for tonight's show...
