Baghdad area, U.S. and British troops continued to face stiff resistance all along

Some U.S. POWs ID'd by families...The International Committee of the Red Cross on
Monday was trying to get access to American and possibly British POWs held in Iraq.

In an appearance that will only stir the debate over his fate, Saddam Hussein turned
up on Iraq's state-run television Monday to urge Iraqis to "kill your enemy precisely
and accurately." But he was vague in describing the U.S.-led military campaign aimed
at toppling him from power and said nothing that would establish the precise time the

A US Apache helicopter went down during an air operation against elite Iraqi
Republican Guard units near Baghdad and its two-man crew is missing in action, US

American forces in Iraq are chasing down leads from captured Iraqis and documents on
possible chemical and biological weapons sites, but as of Monday had not confirmed the
presence of any weapons of mass destruction, a senior administration official said.

The U.S. soldier accused of throwing grenades into tents at a 101st Airborne Division
command center early Sunday was opposed to the killing of Muslims and opposed to the
war in Iraq, two high-ranking U.S. Army sources told NBC. One soldier was killed and
15 others, including the division commander, were wounded - at least three of them
seriously - in the early Sunday attack at Camp Pennsylvania, the rear base for the
101st near the Iraqi border.
