            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

Again we find ourselves moving on multiple editorial fronts today in Hardball
land...We've got Dick Cheney speaking live, offering a renewed justification for the
war on Iraq...We're told by our insider sources that this is part of a renewed PR
offensive on the part of The White House to stanch the declining poll numbers and
growing controversy of the Iraq/nuclear intelligence...He's also speaking directly to
the Democratic presidential candidates who have criticized the handling of Iraq and
the faulty intelligence used in part to justify the war...

To ignore the threat of Saddam Hussein would have been "irresponsible in the extreme"
is a phrase often repeated by Cheney..

Folks you can bet we'll be doing some major league slicin' and dicin'...Big Time!

We're also monitoring the release of the 9-11 report...Who's to blame? Will there be
any political fallout and why is there a 28 page redaction on Saudi Arabia?

CIA, FBI faulted for 9/11 failures (MSNBC)

Plus, gruesome photos of Uday & Qusay are released....Will they convince the Iraqis
that those two scoundrels are gone? Will it make our troops safer? 3 more U.S.
soldiers just died overnight in Iraq...

Expect Chris to be on fire tonight....I'd recommend getting out the TV tray, putting
out the popcorn and gathering the kids around the TV....It's sine qua non viewing and
I'm not just "sexing it up" either...Expect to see Intelligence Committee members
Dianne Feinstein and Saxby Chambliss...Plus, newly annointed RNC chairman Ed Gillespie
will be in the House and will get his reax to Democratic attacks on Iraq...

So many burning questins folks...We'll be on the hunt for answers...

Plus...October 7 date set for California Recall vote!!
