Barnicle remains in the chair this week with a dollop of Dornan as Chris continues on
his vacation...
Looks like a legal panel to discuss the breaking news out of Modesto...A judge out
there has allowed Scott Peterson's trial to be "open" to the media but still no
official word on cameras in the courtroom...Plus, should camera's be allowed at Kobe's
preliminary hearing? In addition to some of the nation's foremost legal experts
weighing in, our own editor-in-chief Jerry Nachman will be in the House as
well...Jerry, btw, is an old school Hardball soldier in the truest sense of the
sobriquet...
President Bush is out politicking in California, raising money and meeting with the
troops but he ain't meeting with Arnold...What should the White House's role be in the
Recall election and will a Gov. Schwarzenegger help or hurt Bush's chances for winning
California in '04...Yesterday the President said Arnold would make a good governor "as
would others." We'll ask Washington Wiseman David Gergen...
In the Buzz we'll talk to Hollywood Wiseman Ben Stein about the state of California
politics and his advice to Bush on his trip...We'll also throw in legendary California
Democratic power broker state Senator John Burton...B-1 Bob Dornan will be adding his
unique color commentary to the discussion as only B-1 can..
I strongly suspect your day wouldn't be complete without tuning in....Pls join us...

after Labor Day, the uniformed Americans in Iraq and the 9,000 in Afghanistan will
lose a pay increase approved last April of $75 a month in "imminent danger pay" and
$150 a month in "family separation allowances." (SF Chronicle)
