any better along comes a brand spanking new show! Deborah Norville joins
MSNBC...'Deborah Norville Tonight' premieres Wednesday, Jan. 21, 9 p.m. ET
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3899215/
Pls do check it out...On tonight's edition of Hardball, St. Louis Democrat, former
House Majority Leader, Son of a milk delivery man and candidate for Dem nomination
Dick Gephardt joins us for the A & B blocks of the show...As you'd expect from Chris
we'll hit all the topics you'd like to ask Gephardt if you were hosting the show,
except you get to chill in the comfort of your living with food and remote.
And of course you've heard all the buzz about "The Donald's" new reality show "The
Apprentice"? We'll talk to The Donald himself as well as his EP (Executive
Producer)...The show debuts tonight on NBC, check your local listings...
In the Buzz we'll talk to Bill Maher who's HBO show "Real Time with Bill Maher",
returns next week http://www.hbo.com/billmaher/ We'll get his take on the usual
editorial topography we typically traverse in a night's show: President Bush, The Dem
Primary, Hillary, Iraq etc...Jay Jaroch, one of Bill's writers, used to pen The
Washington Monthly's "Monday Morning Monologue" which frequently appeared in this
space editorial topography we typically traverse in a night's show
Oh, the luscious lip-smacking lasagna. Oh, the pastry-wrapped bechamel -- the besht of
its class. Oh, the cheesy hushpuppies hushering in a new year.. We quaffed zesty
citrus martinis at Teatro Goldoni last night at an event only those most philistine,
jaded cynics would call the "First Annual Craig Crawford Salute To Craig Crawford."
On the contrary -- and in fairness and defense of celebrity Briefing subscribers Craig
Crawford and Janet Donovan -- it was a rare Washington party with NO AGENDA! "We're
not signing anything," Crawford explained to the puzzled and bemused crowd, working
the mic like the accounting firm spokesman explaining how Oscar votes are tabulated
while trying to help answer the Stockdale question, "Why am I here?" The Hardball
crew and spouses was there just to enjoy the pre-Iowa warmth of the political and
media community, with the likes of Mudcat Saunders -- the 21st Century's answer to
James Carville -- and Steve Jarding, plus Helen Thomas, Annie Groer, the senior
echelon and founders of The Hotline (thanks for watching us!), former RNC spinmeisters
Cliff May and Mike Collins (together again!) THIMMESCH!, lots of hot shots from CBS
News (Crawford's other taskmaster) like Bill Plante, who surely at some point enjoyed
a fine Bordeaux, and the dynamic early riser Penny Britell. We also met Shuster's
agent Miles, whose last name we can't remember ... Miles Standish-something, some
speculated this morning. Although we didn't spot Celebrity Briefing subscribers Ed
Henry or Anne Schroeder, surely The Washingtonian's Chuck Conconi and The Washington
Post's Roxanne Roberts represented them well. We left just as '70s piano satirist
Mark Russell took to the floor, trying out a diddy on Saddam's capture, although we
could have sworn we heard echoes of ancient "Impeach Earl Warren" jokes as we braved
the frigid D.C. air.
