Sorry we're late folks...I'm having one of those days where I start the Briefing at
9:30 am and nearly have it ready to go, then we change the show around and I get
sucked into producing a segment and tracking down some obscure element or two and you
end up at 4 pm scrambling to get it out the door...

Campbell Brown takes the helm of Hardball this week (in case you missed last night's
show) as Chris & family are "summering" at an undisclosed location...

Tonight we lead with White House Communications Chief Dan Bartlett on the latest from
Iraq, the unfortunate beheading of that South Korean hostage, the new Wash Post poll
numbers (must read stuff) and the torture memos just released this afternoon from the
White House...

Later we talk with the Reverend Pat Robertson on religion & politics (see The
Washington Times pieces below), the Post poll and Bill Clinton's new memoir which hit
the bookshelves this morning...We'll run Robertson for two segments

We round out the show with former Clinton Chief of Staff John Podesta to get his take
on "My Life" and the Clinton book craze...

Tomorrow we've got Deputy SecDef Paul Wolfowitz, a key neocon architect of the Iraq
war...Plus, we're sending Shuster to the big DC premiere of the controversial new
Michael Moore film "Fahrenheit 9/11" to get a live report...Btw, Hitchens is slamming
Moore in a new Slate piece (see below)...Hitchens will also enter Scarborough Country
tonight at 10 pm ET/7pm PT on MSNBC
