Great A level lineup tonight on Hardball folks...Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm
(D) on her battleground state and the glamour fact of today's Kerry-Edwards photo
op...Senator Trent Lott (R-MS) on this year's "Southern Strategy"....Can Edwards pick
off any red states in Dixie? Well, you can already tell how Trent's gonna answer that
question but we'll ask him about Bush as well...And no, I'm not talking about a
"Southern Strategy" in the George Wallace or Nixonian sense of the word so don't start
spamming me about it...I mean it in the generic sense of the term...
Ralph Nader is back in the House and I need not remind me of the fire we generated
last time he was on...He told us that he wanted to see a Kerry-Edwards Dem ticket and
that was back in February...So what's his campaign's raison d'etre? Chris liked that
little question when I dropped it on him during our show prep...It's French for
"reason or justification for existence"...You get the picture folks...We also have
another little sugar plum up our sleeves but I don't want to give it away...
Jerry Brown stops by to give his two cents on Edwards and the battle for the White
House...Jerry's the man, regardless of what you think of his politics...Dig this old
school GQ picture of Jerry and his dad, Pat, also a Governor of California
http://www.jerrybrown.org/images/jbpb1985.jpg Jerry's running for Attorney General of
California these days, in case you didn't know...
We round out the show with the academic gravitas of Kerry biographer, Douglas
Brinkley...
Oh, and Shuster has a great package kicking off the show tonight on KE04's
Kennedyesque (what total media suck up term) photo op...
Need some recipe suggestions for dinner tonight? Check out this one we found in
today's New York Post...I dare the "other guys" to throw in this recipe to thier
newsletters!

Cheney-Edwards contrasts are vast...The Dick Cheney-John Edwards debate will be worth
paying to watch, potentially as much fun in its way as the famous Lloyd Bentsen-Dan
Quayle match in 1988. MSNBC.com's Tom Curry explores the stylistic and ideological
contrasts between the two men.

Lambro: The biggest difference between the vice-presidential candidates, besides age,
is their experience in public office. Vice President Dick Cheney, 63, has a lengthy,
high-level government resume. Freshman Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, 51, is
just getting started. http://www.washtimes.com/national/20040706-115345-8659r.htm
