We lead tonight's show with the heart-wrenching case of Terri Schiavo, the
woman in Florida who was permanently brain damaged 15 years ago and is being
kept alive artificially...Her husband would like to end her suffering but
Terri's parents do not...A lot of court action yesterday and today on the
case...We'll get you up to speed on it and speak with Terri's father, Bob
Schindler, and Schindler's attorney...
Afterwards we speak with Elizabeth Birch of the Human Rights Campaign and Pat
about the case and the moral issues surrounding euthanasia...We'll also talk to
them about Pope John Paul II's new book where he calls homosexuality an
"ideology of evil." Expect some heat to rise on this one.
Later in the show we get into the white hot debate over Social Security reform
and talk to Charlie Jarvis of USA Next, a conservative pro-reform group that is
beginning a PR campaign to slam the AARP's opposition...Jarvis has enlisted the
top political talent behind the Swift Boat Veterans campaign...Jarvis promises
a vigorous slate of ads targeting AARP not unlike the Swifties' efforts against
Kerry...We'll run the first of those ads tonight...Shuster will do a set up
package and Rangel will play defense for AARP...
We finish up with the show with a report from Norah who recently sat down with
FLOTUS Laura Bush...We'll also talk to Gregory who is of course traveling with
POTUS in Europe and will update us on the Doug Wead audiotapes of Bush and
other fun news from Old Europe...
