            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

Tonight on Hardball, we'll have an exclusive sneak peak of results of the new
NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll at 5 pm Eastern and then more poll results at
7 pm Eastern. You don't want to miss either show to hear the latest measure of
the public's thoughts on President Bush's job performance, the Iraq War, and
much more. MSNBC Political Analyst and Hardblogger All-Star Pat Buchanan and
Leon Panetta, former congressman and chief of staff to President Clinton, will
be here to talk about the poll numbers, the midterm elections, and the ramp-up
for the 2008 presidential race.

Also tonight, Howard Wolfson, an advisor to Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY), will
join Chris to talk about the senator's plans for 2006 and beyond as well as the
Democratic Party's chances to re-take the House and/or Senate in the 2006
elections.

Hardball Correspondent David Shuster will report on the latest in the Moussaoui
case, in which a lead attorney has been accused of coaching witnesses, possibly
jeopardizing the government's chances to pursue a death sentence for the
so-called "20th" 9/11 hijacker.

Kate Michelman, former president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, and MSNBC
Political Analyst Monica Crowley also will be here to discuss the political
climate on Capitol Hill and down the hill at Pennsylvania Avenue.

Chris also will talk tonight with Eugene Jarecki, director of the film "Why We
Fight," which examines the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and author Christopher
Buckley, who wrote "Thank You for Smoking," which has just been turned into the
first film by director Jason Reitman and is a hilarious look at lobbying.
