            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

Decision 2006 rocks on Hardball tonight as Chris breaks down the latest news
and developments in the hottest races across the country. Former House
Republican Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) will be here to talk about how Republicans
are trying to hold on to the majority he helped build, how the White House is
encouraging their party to run on the war, and how the Supreme Court's decision
today to (mostly) uphold the Texas congressional map that DeLay helped design
could affect politics down the road. The AP has more on that decision:

The president is in Missouri tonight for a $1 million fundraiser for Sen. Jim
Talent (R-MO), who trails Democratic opponent Claire McCaskill 49% to 43% in a
recent poll of Missouri voters by Research 2000. Tonight, McCaskill plays
Hardball about her campaign, her party, and Democrats' chances of winning a
majority in the Senate in 2006. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has a quick preview
of the president's visit tonight:
