            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Tonight on Hardball, new developments in the Foley scandal. Late today we
heard Kirk Fordham will testify Thursday before the House Ethics Committee.
And an attorney for Jeff Trandhal, former clerk of the House, released a
statement this afternoon saying he'll cooperate with the investigation. In
Oklahoma, the FBI met for two hours with a former congressional page. And this
morning, Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Il) said, "If there was a problem, if there
was a cover-up, we should find that out through the investigative process.
They should not continue to handle their jobs." Hardball Correspondent David
Shuster will have a full report, and NBC's Mike Viqueira will have the latest
from Capitol Hill. For legal implications on this case, we'll turn to Stan
Brand, former counsel to the House of Representatives.

With Election Day only 28 days away, we'll bring in Hardballers Mike Barnicle
and Chuck Todd, editor-in-chief of the "Hotline," to parse the latest poll
numbers on President Bush, Congress, and the war in Iraq.

And in one of the most closely-watched races in the country, Joe Lieberman has
been campaigning for reelection against challenger Ned Lamont.
A Quinnipiac University poll last month had incumbent Joe Lieberman beating
anti-war challenger Ned Lamont (D) 49% to 39%. Tonight, Ned Lamont will be
here to tell us what Connecticut voters are saying about the war in Iraq and
the Foley scandal.

Comedian Larry Miller, author of the new book "Spoiled Rotten America," will
share his thoughts on the Foley scandal and all things politics.

Then, we'll get an insider's look into the Bush family from Doro Bush Koch,
daughter of former President George H.W. Bush, sister of the current president
and author of the new book "My Father, My President." What don't we know about
Bush 41? And are the Bushes moving on from the White House, or should we look
for a Jeb Bush run? Read an excerpt of "My Father, My President" at
