            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Today, the country honored former President Gerald Ford. Thousands lined the
streets to pay respect to the 38th president as his motorcade departed the
Capitol and made its way past the White House and finally to Washington
National Cathedral for a funeral service. The Ford family then flew to
Michigan where Ford's remains will lie in repose at his museum in Grand Rapids
until his burial there Wednesday (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16393733/).

President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush attended this morning's
service, along with former Presidents Clinton, Bush and Carter and former First
Ladies Rosalyn Carter, Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush and Sen. Hillary Clinton
(D-NY). Hardball Producer Jeremy Bronson was also there; you can read his
reports from the cathedral on Hardblogger http://hardblogger.msnbc.msn.com/.
Also, check out Chris' conversation with MSNBC special correspondent Ron Reagan
on mourning a president and a father.

Tonight on Hardball, we'll talk about the legacy of former President Ford with
former Sen. Alan Simpson (R-WY), Carla Hill and Pat Butler, both members of the
Ford Administration and the Washington Post's Sally Quinn. Plus, we'll hear
from NBC's Andrea Mitchell and former Ford advisor David Gergen about the race
for '08 and the latest addition to the growing list of contenders: Gov. Mit
Romney (R-MA) (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16432758).

Tomorrow, join Chris and Keith Olbermann again for continuing coverage of
Ford's funeral service in Grand Rapids. Go to www.politics.msnbc.com for more
