            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Tonight, "The Hammer" plays Hardball! Former Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX) talks to
Chris about the showdown between the White House and Congress shifting into
high gear, how he thinks the GOP can shape up and his new book, "No Retreat, No
Surrender."

On Capitol Hill today, a House panel voted to subpoena Karl Rove and other top
White House aides. We'll hear from House Majority Leader Rep. Steny Hoyer
(D-MD). Later in the show, tonight's Hardballers: radio talk show host Michael
Smerconish and Bloomberg columnist Margaret Carlson will debate the Bush clash
with Congress and the latest in '08.

Then, more on the center stage role the internet is now playing in politics.
We all know about the importance of developing "grassroots" in campaigns, but
2008 is shaping up to be all about "netroots." Watch tonight's report from
Hardball's Jeremy Bronson to find out what it's all about.

And Al Gore takes his Oscar-winning global warming warning from the red carpet
to the halls of Congress. He already won over the Oscar voters, is the former
presidential candidate looking to woo other voters as well? Hardball's David
Shuster will give us the scoop.

Plus, NBC News Middle East Correspondent and Beirut Bureau Chief Richard Engel
shares his war zone diary from inside Iraq - a raw video journal four years in
the making - in a must-see documentary tonight, right here on MSNBC. Engel
will join us with a preview, then watch the full program at 10 PM EST. Click
