The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
Dear Hardballers,
Don't miss the show we've got on tap for you tonight. The big story in today's
Washington Post is the two new Hillary Clinton books due out next month. Both
paint critical pictures of the '08 candidate and former first lady and offer
details of martial strife, including that Hillary allegedly contemplated
divorcing Bill Clinton and running for governor in Arkansas because she was
angry over her husband's infidelities.
Peter Baker and John Soloman from the Washington Post got a look at both books
yesterday and they'll be here tonight to tell us about them. We'll also get a
response from Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson.
Then, Congress has officially sealed the deal - for now - on the Iraq war
funding bill, but the battle over when the troops will come home continues.
We'll debate with radio talk show host Melanie Morgan and MoveOn.org's Eli
Pariser. And later in the show, more on this week's hot politics with the
Hardballers: Mark Green, president of Air America, the Washington Post's Eugene
Robinson, and former Schwarzenegger spokeswoman Karen Hanretty. Check out
Hanretty's blog on '08 contender John Edwards questioning the term "war on
terror" from The Hill <http://pundits.thehill.com/>.
And speaking of Edwards, don' miss a report from Hardball's Jeremy Bronson on
the former senator calling for Americans to set aside picnics and parades this
Memorial Day weekend and instead use the holiday to speak out against the war
in Iraq.
