The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
We're getting close to the finish line with just 11 days left in the
Presidential race!
Battleground polls across the nation show an uphill battle for McCain, who has
marked his main focuses on taxes, the economy and "Joe". We'll talk to Rep.
Steve Israel (D-NY) and Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) about the state of the race.
Today Michelle Obama and Hilary Clinton were out on the campaign trail for
Barack Obama, while McCain and Palin are campaigning in Colorado and
Pennsylvania. With a number of recent high-profile Republican endorsements for
Obama, what does the future hold for Sarah Palin and John McCain if they do not
win?
Plus, is Palin laying the foundation for her political future after the
election? Bloomberg's Margaret Carlson and the National Journal's Ron
Brownstein will weigh in.
Coming up in the Hardball Sideshow - Will Ferrell returns to "Saturday Night
Live" as Pres. Bush to "endorse" the McCain-Palin ticket. Don't miss it!
And is it too soon for conservatives to be pointing fingers and playing the
blame game? Was Gen. Colin Powell's endorsement of Obama the nudge some
Republicans needed to go with Obama? Vanity Fair's Christopher Hitchens and
Former Gov. Bill Weld (R-MA) give us their take.
Then in the Politics Fix, American Urban Radio Network's April Ryan and the
WashingtonPost.com's Chris Cillizza will discuss who won the week.
And tonight's Big Number may be able to top yesterdays on Palin's wardrobe vs.
Joe the Plumbers house. Find out how much the Obama machine spent during the
first two weeks of this month. You won't believe this!
