HELP NEEDED:
I represent a 25 bed hospital practice in a rural area of the Philippines. A 3rd world country, I believe that Information and Computer Technology would be a way to help in the effective delivery of medical care. We are in the plannaing stage and have decided to adopt VISTA software as a platform for the Hospital Information System that we would like established. Sure it was an easy chose- no funds for a developed software.
MS Windows is an enviroment that we are familiar with and drives our present network. However because of cost we are open to adopting Linux as OS to run our system. There is no person in charge of the IT dept. I am the one that dabbles on this alone.
Here are my queries. Your advice surely would be valued.
1. Which form of VISTA would be reccomended? Would the Core VISTA from Pacific HUI be more superior than the VISTA present in the ftp site of VA? Despsite the fact that the former only has core elements.
2. Is it essential that VISTA run in Linux (as espouced by Pacific HUI) or would the VISTA from VA run in windows as the folks in Hardthats says is possible. Yet, they have a dsclaimer as to demonstrate its capability i windows. they even provide a step by step means of installing it at windows with a CACHE software.
Your reply would be appreciated. I feel that a project like this would indeed be a boost for our operations.
