Fileman does do some transformations but not all, unless I have
misunderstood how Fileman works all these years. Yes, if he knows the
lookup field is a date field, he will convert the user supplied value to an
internal Fileman value. I am not sure if he actually runs the value through
the input transform though. He may just convert the user supplied value by
invoking ^%DT directly. For fields that are pointers to other files, he
actually uses the user supplied value and does the lookup on the pointed-to
file.
In any case, I do not think he runs the user supplied value through the
input transform prior to doing the lookup. I am waiting for someone more
intimately knowledgeable about the inner workings of Fileman to confirm or
dispute my understanding. But I have been through Fileman lookup many times
in Break mode. I do not remember seeing Fileman running the user input
through the input transform prior to doing the lookup. By my memory
