Informatix has a HIPAA compliant 837 and 835 module for electronic claims also.

I also understand that the IHS is able to transmit some data to Medicare using HIPAA compliant messaging, so I would like to see an effort made to interface the VA and IHS software at the appropriate point to allow transmission of VistA gathered data.
