There is a Residence Inn quite close to the Marriott which (last I checked) had a very good rate for government employees. Another hotel which I have been told is a 15 to 20 minute walk (~3/4 mi.) is the Royal Sonesta. They have some newly renovated but slightly smaller than normal rooms which you can get for $99 by asking for the "Individual Travelers Room Type".
