As time marshes on I have lately been reminded by threads such as this one 
that one of my own motivations for sticking around MUG Atlanta in the 80's, 
MUG itself until it's demise, and then Hardhats, and now openvista 
(lowercase here to be as broad as possible)...  
 
I am still drawn (alongside healthcare as a human right) by this continuing 
association with this group of <<doers>> studded with <<thinkers>>... sort 
of like nuts, raisins and bits of unexpected whatever enbeded in a 
fruitcake. :-)  
  
We remain capable of discussion on a level that I can understand,  
mostly, and contribute to, (very occasionally substantively), but which puts  
me into contact with minds that sometimes show a broader sweep than mine,  
sometimes move at a deeper level than mine, take me places I wouldn't have 
considered, and often bring to bear experience very different from my own.
