I decided to give Apache and 'mono' http://www.mono-project.com a shot trying to get VistAWeb to run on my linux laptop box that runs VistA .... no joy yet. I have mono installed and Apache configured correctly, the .NET/ASP test applications that come with mono run just fine..... so I know it works.
When I call VistAWeb from the web browser the application throws compile errors. From the code I have looked at it looks to be coded Windows specific. More examination of the code base is required by someone who knows .NET/ASP, additionally change all DOS paths to unix paths. I'm in over my head as all the technical manuals from the VA are Windows 2003 specific. BUT, Apache with mod_mono may be the way to go if VistAWeb is to run on an alternative platform. -- Mark Street, RHCE http://www.oswizards.com -- Key fingerprint = 3949 39E4 6317 7C3C 023E 2B1F 6FB3 06E7 D109 56C0 GPG key http://www.oswizards.com/pubkey.asc ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
