If you just use Apache as a web server, then basically all you need
is a Delphi component capable of retrieving a document via HTTP, and
I can't believe that such a thing doesn't already exist (especially
since I've seen Delphi applications do this). If all you are about is
the Windows platform, then you can launch IE via OLE automation (for
example) and you get display of PDF documents (or, with a suitable
viewer, PaperPort), for "free". Solving the patch dependency problem
is more difficult, of course.

I would say that with what is going on right now, we need a

So if the purist in you can be suppressed for a bit, perhaps you
would like
to suggest one? ;-)
BTW Thurman, I too use Paperport, but I would love a nice seamless
link to
VistA and CPRS. I have thought of barcoding and scanning for easy
entry and
all sorts of tweaks, but a nice, simple, work around right now
would be
great.
