GT.M for x86 GNU/Linux will not run on OS X or Yellow Dog Linux on Power PC. The reason is that GT.M is a MUMPS compiler that generates machine code. So, the M compiler on GT.M for x86 GNU/Linux would (if it ran at all) generate code for x86 which would not run on Power PC hardware.
Of course, one could use an emulator such as bochs (http://bochs.sourceforge.net) or qemu (http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/about.html). The easiest way for Greg to learn about GT.M would be to take a USB drive and an OpenVistA VivA live CD/DVD (or the GT.M Acculturation live CD at http://sourceforge.net/projects/sanchez-gtm which is basically just an OpenVistA VivA live CD which also pops up a browser on boot up with a series of exercises for an M person to learn about GT.M). -- Bhaskar On Thu, 2005-07-21 at 16:28 -0500, Nancy Anthracite wrote: > Do you know if GTM runs on Yellow Dog on a Power PC? > > BTW, is there anything like Knoppix on a CD that runs on a MAC so we > can get > Greg to try GTM by hook or by crook?
