John,
Perhaps you could point the folks on the AAFP list to the ACPE whose
very large survey found that the only EHR that any body cared to sing
praises of was VistA. The other thing to consider is that mailing lists
for the most part, unless designed to be so, are poor mediums for
objective peer review...Hardhats being an exception of course!!!

I have a lot of Vista experience and so far it proves I'm a kook,
especially in Family Practice circles. I'll give you an example from the
AAFP's EHR list yesterday afternoon. (1)

Thank you, Nancy. But it <is> an affectation. Reminds me of adolescence
when I spent an awfully long time developing a cool signature. Nowadays
I really am content to be
Grandpa John Leo Zimmer, M.D., M.A., A.B.F.P

Very poor design. The Docs stated "it works" though "they don't like
it" but it is what is given to them and TOLD that they have to use.
Was just a few years ago.
Vista HAS been available for quite some time and I agree, there are
very few enamored with it and swamping our EMR listserv singing its
praises. Remember this IS what comes from the government, the same
one that brought you the $5000 toilet seat.
VISTA for ALL....very bad idea!
