I have some general questions about where the Fileman user interface will
evolve.
I was able to hear parts of George Timson's discussion of Fileman in Boston
via the Teamspeak broadcast, but without benefit of his visuals.
There was enthusiasm for devloping possible mouse driven user interface and I
have forgotten details. Presumably a mouse driven Fileman would depend on the
Database Server API for Fileman instead of altering routines for classical
Fileman....I am asking by guessing?
Could anyone summarize the points presented in Boston by GeorgeTimson?
Are there any persons pursuing these *mouse-driven* changes for Fileman and
what is the scope of their task?
Are there any smaller changes for Fileman on the horizon that would be
improvements *only* to roll/scroll functionality rather than the leap to
mouse-driven?
According to past discussion on hardhats, any Fileman changes would be more
likely to be sponsored outside of VA/FOIA and would be a classic common need for
open-source development under Worldvista or initiatives like VistaOffice, but
there is no list traffic on this topic to indicate what if anything is happening.
Thanks for any updates, Rusty Maynard
