Hey guys,,, g'monrin. I have been in a debate with one of my co-workers for a while regarding web-based HIS. Subsequently, this is how I found the Vista solution.
At any rate,, can you guys enlighten me on the pros and cons of a web-based solution? I have played with FreeMED, OpenEMR, and Clearhealth for a while,, I think they have a lot of potential. I just don't think that they are ready for implementation just yet. There appears to be a lot of coding issues which mysql really doesn't like. I am seeing a lot of other web-based solutions around,, like Medical Office On-line. I'm a Director of I.T. for a hosptial in the Atlanta area,,, and I have discovered that the accountability for patient data is critical. Do you guys think that these hosting comapnies will accpet the responsiblity to secure and maintain patient data? Is the industry really ready for these solutions ? Just thinkin about all of this. ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Hardhats-members mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/hardhats-members
