I also find newlists to be a bit exclusive.  A user can't just browse
what has been said-- they have to sign up for the email list.  This
can be a bit intimidating for a newcomer.

Having said that, I know that there is a web interface to search
archives.  But That is not properly threaded or divided into sections.

Also, the new forum might be a better place for those not wanting the
technical level of detail that is often found on this newlists.

So I encourage readers to put a link to it and occasionally check it,
and to help any newcomers that happen to post there.
