Cheer up. I think this is the most interesing list I've ever registered. I decided to change my career to health care and now I'm starting from the bottom like ER Tech and nursing. So I will come from the other direction. They (most nurses and doctors) have just no clue about what this computer thing and people are. This list is the only thing that satisfies my inner interest with computer software/hardware engineering I used to do for Feds (Nasa). I hope I can be a bridge b/w you guys and these other millions of health care personnels. I am about to learn IDX at work and install VistA at home. For me, new language is as fine as 20 year old underrated one. Thing is who will do the good-enough work for others to enjoy. I think Tovalds-like figure should appear and lead the GPL medical IT. I don't know how other European countries with social medicine are dealing with EHRs. U.S. is the only country that treats health care as a commodity. That makes the effort of people in this list particularly difficult, IMHO.
