There was a conference call a few minutes ago to discuss the status of hurricane relief efforts by the VistA community.
In short, efforts are on hold pending what happens with Rita in the next few days. The word from Terry LeBlanc (on the ground in Lafayette) is that in the last few hours, the expected track has shifted eastward, and there is an expectation that Lafayette could be significantly affected. The original plan was to deploy VistA and volunteers knowledgeable with VistA registration and IFCAP in Lafayette, LA. Prior to the latest concern about Rita, this was on the agenda of the local authorities, and approval was expected. However, they have shifted to crisis management mode, and discussion of VistA deployment in Lafayette is on hold. A VistA system for registration hosted in North Carolina by Brian Lord is currently configured and ready to go, accessible via the web from anywhere with Internet access. But further activity to deploy VistA and volunteers in Lafayette is on hold. If my summary is incorrect in any way, will someone who was on the call please correct me? Thank you very much. -- Bhaskar ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
