On the receiving end (where the registry information would accumulate) there
have been a number of variations used in VA, some using Kernel, VA FileMan,
custom tables, etc in VistA, others using non-VistA services.

Cancer registries were among the first to be done almost two decades ago and
are still quite active (through the Oncology package) in upgrading the
measurements and criteria used.
