That could be. My initial reaction was one of surprise, but most of my experience with GUI development has been on platforms other than Windows. Perhaps that's why this seems like an unusual technique to me. But, as I think back to reading Metzger, I seem to remember code samples using this attribute (but that was back in Windows 95 days or before,so I could be wrong).


But on my wine linux CPRS, I do not have problems with the splash
screen staying in front.


This could be a simple matter of nondeterminism in the way events are processed (the same events may be dispatched in different orders on different platforms). After all, what would cause a window to come to the front?
