Actually, include a comma after at least 3 uppercase characters and you'll
be good to go! Even VA has had some patients with only one name (not even a
"first name").

"Test" is not normally going to be a valid patient name. Names need to be
in the form
LASTNAME,FIRSTNAME I.

You will find that in VistA (it is really Fileman) when it does not like
your input you will often get ?? beep without any explanation. You can
always type ?, ??, ??? to find out what VistA/Fileman wants.

Subject: [Hardhats-members] Help: How to register patient?

Hi:

I followed Kevin's Add/Edit Patient steps in:

http://openforum.worldvista.org/~forum/index.php?title=Register_a_Patient

I saved the routing as TMGMISC.MAC.

When I run the routine, I cannot get past Select PATIENT NAME prompt.

********************
USER>D ^%CD

Namespace: VISTA
You're in namespace VISTA
Default directory is c:\cachesys\mgr\vista\
VISTA>DO EDITPT^TMGMISC(1)

Select PATIENT NAME: Test ??
Select PATIENT NAME:
VISTA>

**********************

Am I missing any step? Any ides?

Thanks,
Meyer
