Well, I was really asking about two different functionalities: 1) investigating file interlinkages, and 2) verifying fields.
So Utility/Verify fields would accomplish goal #2, albeit in a painstakingly slow fashion (it can't be automated for hundreds of files and thousands of fields as far as I know). Regarding goal #1, Greg wrote me about checking both pointers out and pointers in. I then remembered that VPE easily displays such information for one given file.
