Well, the Kernel Installation and Distribution System (KIDS) is the
mechanism through which code (including all kinds of components and
data, not just routines) is distributed. Programmers can write an
environment check routine that is run by KIDS to determine if the
installation can safely proceed. The hypothesis was that it might
contain a problem, but it is lso possible that it calls Kernel code
that fails under GT.M. I haven't had a chance to look at the actual
code yet, so I can't be terribly helpful.
