Take a look at the option "Manage Mailman" [XMMGR]. You may not have
the background filer running. Go down to "Local "Delivery Management"
and check the background filer. This is a background task that puts (a
pointer to) new messages in your inbox. If it's not running, messages
may arrive, but you'd never see them when you check your mail.
