One of the Linuxes it suggested for me was Mepis Linux. I was getting frustrated with Kubuntu because the Ubuntu distributions, although technically Debian GNU/Linux, had their own versions of packages and their own repositories that resulted in a few annoyances (I doubt that most people would notice, but I tend to be picky about my Linux configuration the same way that I tend to be picky about beer, chocolate and habaƱero sauce). So, this weekend I tried simply Mepis 3.4-1-RC1 (http://www.mepis.com/node/146), and I have to confess that I am very happy with it so far. Although I was aware of Mepis before, I would probably not have tried it without the web site's recommendation. So, for me at least, it made a good choice.
