I suppose so, but it's rather like the Y2K problem: On the surface,
changing dates from 2 digits to 4 sounds like a simple thing, but
once you start chasing through the dependencies, it rapidly becomes
obvious that the problem is much more complicated. Worse, not all the
dependencies are statically detectable, but have to do with links
created (and torn down) dynamically (or at run time). There is a lot
you can do, but it's not just a matter of writing a program (even a
complex one) that can run through the code base and identify all the
interaction points. It also depends on how you plan on using VistA
and what capabilities you need.
