There is a package in VistA that is made to input data for blood sugars done with bedside glucose monitors of certain brands. I will try to dig up the information on that if you want it.
But, the best I can thing to do is to find something in the vital signs managers GUI that you can modify to fit. I thing it is called changing a qualifier or something like that. For instance, for height at one time I put in fundal in order to have a way to capture fundal height, even though that is not part of the package and height was supposed to be the height of the person, not the fundus.
