Actually, you need to use the entry/edit process to build a PACKAGE file entry listing the files you want to export the DDs for and then D ^DIFROM to translate that into routines that can be moved to the other area and installed.  Look at FileMan programming guide for more info.  This is something I used to do with great regularity and it's fairly straight forward.  The Package file also allows sending of selected templates, screens, data, etc with or without sending the file DD.
