My work hasn't given me much interaction with the
theater version. It is supposed to be much more
distributive in nature. The model they use to take a
small group of users data into the field doesn't
translate well to the larger sites we have. I think
there is a happy medium between the 'one pot' and
'everyone for themselves.' We are changing the system
to be a little more like VISTA in that notes in
progress will be stored locally and only sent when
complete. This will make the system faster for our
far-flung users.

Was the system designed right for AHLTA? I have no
idea. I am not a trained network engineer. I am
learning more by the day, and the interface with which
the users interact with the system is what I can exert
a little control over. There are parts of the user
interface that I think AHLTA does better than Vista,
and other areas where Vista is probably better. The
more I know what can be done, the better I can
implement my 'better mousetrap.'
