Clinical Reminders don’t work in OV4 after primary installation and configuration. Here is how to “turn on” the clinical reminders: Resource is CLINICAL REMINDERS GLOBAL INDEX TECHNICAL MANUAL AND CLINICAL REMINDERS V2 SETUP GUIDE.
1) Build the Clinical Reminders by: D ^XUP; PXRM INDEX BUILD; select 1-16; YES; READ THE EMAIL GENERATED! These will report success and errors and suggest checks needed. 2) MAP LOCAL LAB NAMES TO NATIONAL TERMS: D ^XUP; REMINDER TERM; 2 (REMINDER TERM MANAGEMNT); 2 (REMINDER TERM MANAGEMENT); TE (REMINDER TERM EDIT); SELECT REMINDER TERM: VA-LDL: 1; SELECT FINDING: LT.LDL; CHOOSE LDL CHOLESTROL; PRESS ENTER UNTIL: CONDITION: I (+V>0); <enter> through the other prompts except: CONDITION CASE SENSITIVE:// NO; Do the same for LDL-CHOL (calculated), so VA-LDL has two mapped entries. Then do the same for VA-LDL(100-119) à I (+V>99)&(+V<120) VA-LDL(120-129) à I (+V>119)&(+V<131) VA-LDL(<100) à I (+V>0)&(+V<100) VA-LDL <120 à I (+V>0)&(+V<120)
EACH OF THE FOUR VA-LDL TERM SHOULD HAVE 2 MAPPED ITEMS. THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONAL ITEMS TO MAP. SEE THE SETUP GUIDE.
3) Set the user and system levels: D ^XUP; CPRS REMIN; NP; 4 SYSTEM; USE NEW REMINDER PARAMETERS: YES 4) Because this is set at the system level, providers still can turn on and off the reminders in CPRS. If you want to make them mandatory, turn them on at the user level. You can test reminders at the REMINDERS MANAGER MENU using REMINDER TEST (RT). Errors will go to your mailbox. The geriatric extended care setup is separate (see setup manual, chapter 2)
