Regarding CCHIT certification for VOE, a July 10, 2006 article at http://www.modernhealthcare.com/article.cms?articleId=40529 had the following to say:
"Dal Molin [WorldVista's project manager for VOE] said another goal is to have a VOE version capable of passing the EHR certification process established by HHS under contract with the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology. The software should be ready for CCHIT testing sometime early next year, he said. By distributing a CCHIT-certified version of VOE, support vendors will save money and will be able to offer the software to physicians at a lower cost than if they had to pay for testing individually, Dal Molin said." CamSchlehuber wrote "there are some capabilities that the CCHIT certification calls for that VA hasn't needed to invest effort in (yet) and those capabilities will need to be added to VOE." What are those missing capabilities? Is there a lot to be done to make VOE CCHIT certifiable and, if so, is it being worked on? Is it reasonable to expect a CCHIT certifiable version to be completed "sometime early next year"? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
